CommPartners: Our History, Services and Community
CommPartners began in 1994 as a provider of enhanced messaging services (i.e. “fax-to-mail”). The company was formed in the “infamous” basement office of Richard Finstein, our founder. The first group of clients were associations in the Washington DC area. These initial experiences set in motion the relationship between CommPartners and the Association Community that has now extended to over 1,300 organizations.
Fancy Conference Calls
Our movement to online education and events began in 1998 when we started to assist our clients who were attempting to hold audio seminars. We noticed that many were treating these programs like interoffice conference calls. There was a lack of professionalism. We created an event production team that helped these organizations create professional programs by attending to the many details of planning and executing virtual seminars.
The Move to Live Education Programs Over the Web
Around the year 2000, organizations began hosting webinars with greater frequency. Like using many new technologies, organizations were more enamored with being able to use the Web to access a live audience than strategizing on how to effectively modify their presentation to best engage their participants. The results were mixed. Programs frequently fell flat. These events were not a very satisfying educational experience.
CommPartners saw this early on and created best practices that leverage online opportunities for engagement. We created a comprehensive webinar production program that includes logistics management, event strategy, pre and post production and event moderation. We viewed and still consider each webinar to be a performance to be executed flawlessly.
3,000 Webinars, Webcasts and Hybrid Events a Year and Growing
CommPartners now produces over 3,000 virtual events per year including educational webinars, webcasts that reach thousands of participants, hybrid events and virtual conferences. We have our own teams in the areas of event production, multimedia, client development and attendee support. We continue to push forward with new innovative ideas for participant engagement including events that are increasingly participatory and collaborative and that integrate with social media within a community framework.
