Account Executive / Consultant – Outside Sales

Department:   Sales
Salary: Base range starting at $45k + commission structure allows right candidate to make six figures
Classification:  Non-exempt
Status:  Full-time - 40 hrs/week

Nature of the Position: 
Business-to-business intangible-services sales of consulting services and Web based applications to the association and non-profit community, as well as to for-profit organizations. Our company uses a highly consultative approach with clients—selling our services requires patience, the ability to explain complex technologies in low-tech terms and a willingness to guide clients through implementation of applications.  This position will primarily work with current clients to build strong relationships and identify additional opportunities within existing accounts.

The right candidate:

  • Has a track record of closing (and retaining) numerous, significant service-oriented (not product) business clients, in person and via telephone, as well as email
  • Is methodical about following up with current clients in regards to their satisfaction with current services and need for additional services
  • Is able to effectively engage prospects/build rapport, to understand their requirements and develop cohesive solutions (from amongst our Web tools) that truly fit their needs
  • Must be quick-thinking, creative, and determined, with a “can do” attitude, but not an overtly aggressive sales style
  • Has excellent written and oral communications skills (writing samples required)
  • Can make successful presentations to clients/potential clients’ upper management
  • Is high energy, a team player, and look at problems as opportunities
  • Is detail oriented: able to keep database records updated and follow-through with every lead

Skills: 

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication. Need to have ability to tend to your client base and consistently develop new business
  • Superb organizational skills, good judgment, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required
  • Familiarity with CRM databases (Oracle, Salesforce, etc.) preferred
  • Knowledge of Web conferencing (Live Meeting, WebEx, etc.) and e-Marketing applications a plus
  • Experience selling to associations and non-profits preferred

Experience: 

  • Education: 4 + years of college preferred
  • 5 + years B-2-B (vs. consumer) experience selling intangibles/services (vs. products)

Online Events Specialist

Job Duties Include but not limited to:  

  • Manage Web & audio events for multiple clients.
  • Consult with clients to develop successful Web seminars and distance learning programs.
  • Coordinate all logistics, from event registration to post-event evaluations / media archives / follow-up.
  • Act as live-event moderator.
  • Train clients on various Web meeting technologies (CommPartners EventCenter, WebEx, CommPartners Event Partner, etc.).
  • Very little travel (if any).

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 2 - 5 years of experience managing virtual events and/or live events, conferences, expos, board meetings, training sessions, etc.
  • Web proficient and able to quickly learn and use multiple online applications in a high intensity environment.
  • An excellent communicator (oral and written), with a pleasant, calm phone demeanor.
  • Highly organized, detailed and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office, Power Point and CRM databases. Virtual meeting application experience a plus.
  • College degree or equivalent experience required.
